The Invisible Fence that Works

Imagine that you have finally gotten the house that you had been saving up for so long. It has all that you dreamt of, including a garden that crowns it all. However, the next day, when you go see your garden, you see that the best flowers have been uprooted and thrown apart.

You go outside to look at your garden and you notice that some of the flowers have been dug up. All of that work is now down the drain. You look at your family pet and see traces of dirt all over his paws. It’s maybe time to invest in an invisible fence.

Advantages and Disadvantages of An Invisible Fence

Getting an invisible fence is a good idea when you own a dog that is very playful. Because of their nature, dogs tend to experiment with things by barking at them, digging them, or munching on them.

This “punishment” consists of a small static shock that is meant to surprise the dog. You might remember some behavior experiments where dogs are rewarded and punished in order to modify their behavior. In this case, the static shock is the punishment the dog gets if it tries to leave the assigned perimeter.

The “punishment” consist of a static shock that is very mild. You might have heard of experiments where they train animals to modify or learn certain behavior patterns by a reward and punishment system. In this case, the punishment is the above mentioned static shock.

The shock is given to the dog through a collar that it has to wear. The owner should adjust the intensity of the collar so that it’s not so mild that the furry and thicker skin of the dog prevents it from feeling the shock, but not so high that the shock hurts it. After a bit of experimentation (not on the dog, of course), you’ll find the right level that will work nicely.

An invisible fence is a good idea to keep your dog within a fixed area without altering your property. Your dog won’t be able to access the garden you’ve spent so much time in. In addition, an invisible fence will protect your dog from running towards guests or running cars.
